Group Purpose: Phase 1 Trauma Therapy

This is a closed (only a select number of individuals) online therapy group for people with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). By being a part of this group you will learn more about CPTSD, how it manifests itself and how to heal from it. We will cover different healing strategies, tools and techniques to help you. By being a part of this group you will have the support you need as you start your healing journey.

This group is for people who:

  • New/newer to CPTSD but not limited too

  • Are just starting their healing journey

  • Want a good foundation for their trauma recovery

  • Want to go through stage 1 of a 3 step process of healing their trauma

  • Want to learn about how their trauma affects them and the symptoms

  • Want to learn the science behind their trauma

  • Want to learn techniques, tips, skills, of how to regulate themselves

This group will focus on Phase 1 of Tauma Treatment. This group is part educational and part experiential. You will be required to participate in group sessions as well as do work on your own time between sessions.

The hope is that this group will provide you with the feelings of

  • safety

  • respect

  • support

  • inclusion

  • being seen and heard

  • community

  • connection

Members give and receive support from one another. Individuals are able to learn from one another’s experiences to solve their own problems. It is empowering and healing for us to work on post traumatic growth together.

Requirements

Commitment to Attendance:

It is vital that you attend every session, arrive on time, and stay for the entire session. By not attending a session you will miss valuable education, tools, techniques and ability to practice in session as well as share with and listen to others in teh group. Additionally, absence, late arrival, or early leaving can disrupt the group.

Participate:

Group therapy doesn’t have much of a therapeutic effect if you do not participate! The potential for healing and growth rests on how you as group members are able to connect, share, and learn from one another. It is essential for all group members to truly participate for this treatment to be effective. Speaking, sharing and being open and honest is very beneficial to your own healing process and is encouraged. You will get out of the group what put in. Participation is key!

Maintain Confidentiality:

It is essential that everything said in this group therapy is kept private by all group members. Failing to adhere to this rule can undermine trust within the group and hinder attempts to heal.
